LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE

Ferret Flush is a card game designed to better emotional health and wellbeing, by encouraging laughter and conversations around feelings, thoughts and actions in response to wild and unpredictable situations. I was brought in early on in the design process, so I created not only the brand identity and illustrative assets, but also helped with the game design. Since the visual and tactile design contribute significantly to the way a game is played, I was able to provide insight and recommendations regarding the logic, flow and reward systems built into the game.

As usual, I began with a series of brand exercises to unearth the heart-values of the team and the brand, and also the context of the market and audience. Our insights informed our direction for language and visual aesthetics.

 

Creature cast

Ferret is the star of the show, a wise old sage who perhaps takes himself a little too seriously. Meanwhile Chicken and Worm provide comic relief. Ferret, Chicken and Worm have limited applications in the first edition of Ferret Flush, but we hope to create a little universe with these characters, as the game expands to further editions and digital applications.
